1970s vintage wedding dresses on the Paris catwalks...

Dear Reader,
The Paris couture shows for Spring 2016 have just drawn to a close with SO many beautiful wedding dresses. (Quite a few bonkers ones too, but more of that later…) 

1970s style wedding dress by Giambattista Valli.

Many designers took vintage wedding fashion as their inspiration. So over the next few posts I'll be picking out some beauties fresh from the Paris couture shows. And I'll also show how you can achieve each catwalk look with the gorgeous original vintage wedding dresses from my London studio.

1970s off–the–shoulder styles are having a major fashion moment right now. The pretty 70s inspired dress from Giambattista Valli's Paris catwalk show (top) is a lovely example of this from the Paris Spring 2016 shows.

1970s boho style is always a favourite with fashion bloggers too. Vogue recently featured View From The Top blogger Kate Brien wearing – yes, you guessed – a Valentino 1970s vintage-style dress for her Mexico wedding…

Original 1950s wedding dress, for vintage bride Kasia.

Dear Reader,
I have another stunning vintage bride to show you today – Kasia, in a wonderful original 1950s wedding dress…






Kasia married George in the beautiful, classical surroundings of Chateau de Saint–Loup–Lamaire...




The dress was a perfect choice for the occasion – delicate and so feminine (with a touch of Grace Kelly too) but formal enough to fit such a grand venue. And of course, beautiful Kasia looks wonderful in it.







In Kasia's own words… 

"Thank you again for your help in picking out my wedding dress. It was such a delight to wear on the day. So many people were saying how beautiful it was."

Beautiful setting. Beautiful day. But most of all, a beautiful bride and a beautiful vintage 1950s wedding dress!

Vintage Bride of the Week: Stephanie in 1960s lace and chiffon wedding dress.

Dear Reader,
There's an Autumn nip in the air today. So I'm going to share these gorgeous pics from real vintage bride Stephanie...

Stephanie married last Winter in the idyllic setting of Bloomington, Indiana. 

Stephanie is such a delightful girl and I was really pleased to meet her charming parents, Steve and Jane, who flew over from Canada to help choose the dress.

With their help, Stephanie chose this stunning original early 1960s wedding dress in lace and chiffon - so glamorous! And I love her swishy 1960s hairstyle that works so well with it. (For more great 1960s hair ideas, click here.)

Stephanie certainly made the right choice...

"The dress was amazing, absolutely beautiful and all I could have hoped for! I received so many compliments, and people said it was one of the most stunning gowns they'd ever seen. Thank you for all of your hard work, and for helping to make my big day so special.

Marriage has been a treat, and we think fondly back to December 14th often. It went by so fast, but it was such a memorable day nonetheless. Thank you again, Helena!"
