Gorgeous vintage bride Sophie wears one of my 1950s–style wedding dresses...

Dear Reader,
Remember gorgeous vintage bride Sophie, utterly fabulous in one of my 1950s–style wedding dresses for her wedding to Jeremy…?
Well, I'm enjoying Sophie's pictures all over again – since I've found a great feature about their wedding on one of my favourite wedding blogs. I only gave you a glimpse of Sophie's vintage–inspired style, with her silver Jimmy Choo 'Luna' peep toe pumps, chic birdcage veil and bright Spring flowers...

But if you like what you've seen so far, you can find much more on cool wedding blog RockMyWedding.
Don't miss stylish groom Jeremy, too – in his blue Reiss suit, Thomas Pink dress shirt and Alexander McQueen tie and cufflinks...

Check out the feature on RockMyWedding to see much more of their day – from the London Bus Tour to the 'Molly Bakes' cake-pops!
For a glimpse of more real vintage–inspired brides, visit my website. And if you love Sophie's 1950s style dress, you can find more like it here and in my new Etsy store.

It's always nice to take a moment's breath, to look back and admire some of the beautiful women who've worn my vintage–inspired wedding dresses!

A 1930s style lace wedding dress, for Vintage Bride Amy.

Dear Reader,
A mini takeover from fabulous vintage bride Amy today. For her Autumn wedding, Amy wore 'Butterfly' – a romantic 1930s style lace wedding dress from my Heavenly Collection.
Full length veils are so pretty with 1930s style wedding dresses.

Amy's Butterfly dress is made in the prettiest beaded lace. The lace itself is a soft and delicate off–white. And the beads are matched perfectly. So the effect is the subtlest shimmer of texture – like sunlight on snow. This romantic and charming dress was just right for beautiful bride Amy, a real English Rose.
Amy wears Butterfly, a 1930s style wedding dress in sumptuous beaded lace.

Amy has some great words of advice to share on her day...
What went well…? The most important thing for us when we started planning our wedding was to plan a wedding day that was fun and laid back, and to make sure that everyone was fed and watered well. The day turned out exactly how we imagined with only a couple of tiny bumps along the way.
Amy, radiant in 1930s inspired lace wedding dress and veil.
What didn't go well…! We wished we'd done a more detailed plan of the day and communicated this with everyone involved, as at some points the day felt a little unorganised. However, this sort of added to the charm!
A gorgeous view from behind.
The best thing about my dress…? I loved wearing my beautiful dress – and so many people complimented me on how different it was.
1930s dresses are so romantic!
The best thing about the day…? We had such a lovely day, I just wish I could do it all over again! The best thing was being surrounded by all our favourite people, and seeing all our hard work over the past year pay off.
So stylish!
And our most important advice…? It's very hard but try not to get too hung up on the little details as you then start to lose track of why you're doing it in the first place. At the end of the day, your guests are only there to see you!
                    Amy x :)
Thanks so much for your tips, Amy – you look amazing!
And for any readers who love this dress, check out my Etsy store. I have some beautiful 1930s dresses available at the moment.

Ruth in Edwardian lace wedding dress – an enchanting vintage bride for 2016.

Dear Reader,
The Happiest of New Years to you!
I'd like to start our 2016 with an enchanting vintage bride in the prettiest Edwardian wedding dress. Meet Ruth!

Ruth and Conor were married in late Summer at St Mary's Parish Church, Kilmood, County Down in Northern Ireland. Befitting this wonderful couple, their whole day has a beautiful handmade and simple vibe that perfectly suited the innocent charm of Ruth's beautiful Edwardian cotton lace wedding dress.

To complement her vintage wedding dress, Ruth wore a charming floral crown together with an elegant fingertip–length veil in silk tulle (the veil was handcrafted by the bride's talented mother!) The overall effect is simple and stunning.

The lovely, personal feel of their day continued inside the Church. Conor comes from a musical family, so Ruth walked down the aisle to a live performance by two family members of Simon and Garfunkel's The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy).

Their reception was held at Field of Dreams in Bangor, County Down. It's a stunning rural location – with a Scandinavian-style wooden lodge decked out in beautiful garlands, as well as marquee, meadow, lake and even a standing stone circle!

Inside a traditional canvas marquee – handsomely decked out with wooden tables, hay bales and floral garlands – a good friend played mixologist for the night, creating fresh juices and cocktails including Rhubarb Margaritas and Apple, Elderflower and Gin Rickeys. So good!

Groom Conor is a Fine Bench Joiner and Cabinet Maker and made the stunning maple and birch wood tables himself! (He's since sold half of them to a bar–restaurant in the French Alps, but the couple are determined to keep one as a memento of their fab day.)
A wonderful, casual meal was followed by many hours of dancing to great music, courtesy of a band of friends and family. The first dance was to Twist and Shout by the Beatles and Ruth reports that after that she didn't stop dancing until the very end of the evening!

What a beautiful day! I'll leave the last word to our fabulous bride Ruth...
"Thank you again for helping me find the perfect vintage wedding dress. It was amazing – just wonderful! So comfortable, flowed beautifully when I walked and danced (and I did a lot of dancing!!) and it felt like it was made just for me. I received so many compliments. My dress really was such a big part of what made the day so special."

A 1960s Lace Wedding Dress for Ambreen – Mad Men Style.

Dear Reader,
Today we have Real Vintage Bride Ambreen, looking fabulous in an original 1960s lace wedding dress...

Ambreen's cocktail–style dress in superb quality lace is a classic 1960s style. With its close–fitted bodice, three–quarter sleeves and on–the–knee length, it perfectly shows off Ambreen's gorgeous hourglass figure and chic style.

Ambreen cleverly kept her accessories simple – Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon shoes, a pearl bracelet and a pretty birdcage veil, created bespoke by my brilliant seamstress Grace.
A fabulous Mad Men look, for a wonderfully individual wedding.

White Horses, White Sands... and White Vintage Wedding Dresses.

Dear Reader,
I have gorgeous pictures for you today – all featuring one of my original vintage wedding dresses…

The model is wearing a beautiful 1930s lace dress with a rayon satin slip… dainty and delicate as can be.
It's a classic dress from a wonderful era – simple and romantic, yet with very clever pattern cutting.

It's this quality I've aimed for in 1930s–style Angel and Butterfly, from my own Heavenly Collection... Elegant simplicity, underpinned by the finest fabrics and clever cuts.

These gorgeous beach images are from a shoot by charming Kent wedding photographer, Sam Riley, with the help of stylist Lisa Nicolaou and hair and make-up artist Hannah Sorcha

And these lovely wedding blooms are by Wild Things, Mayfair.

One of my vintage veils also features in the pictures. You can see many more at my studio, or even have one specially made to complement your dress...

If you love the dress, I have a few similar 1930s wedding dresses at the moment – priced between £695 and £995. Do contact me if you'd like to come and see them.

And of course, I have a full range of vintage–inspired wedding dresses in my Heavenly Collection. You can view these in the luxe surroundings of my stockists Luella's Boudoir (London) and Vintage Bride (Dublin).

White ponies, white sands, white dresses… Heavenly!
